Flying Lotus is more than cool in my book. I'd heard a few tracks of his before I copped the From L.A. With Love (SOLID Los Angeles album I think you were talking about) compilation while I was in Cali.

If I had more time to peep out the scene in L.A. I definitely would have tried to check him out. If you haven't given him a chance, The Gaslamp Killer is another monster. To be fair, I only really like one of his albums, but his live sets are forces of nature if you ever get to see one. He performs frequently on http://dublab.com/

hey man, nice site.
How do you feel about Flying Lotus? I know he counts Dilla as a huge influence (and he's the nephew of alice coltrane).

Personally, I love him; that "reset" ep was brilliant, and the Los Angeles album is quite great as well.

haha It could do without the sitar, but it would take away a lot of texture from this uncommon song. Then the song would just be a Journey into Cool Jazz...

The sax is great in this piece;however, the psychedelic crap ruins the mix. The sultry sound of the sax and the drums are awesome but I did not get the acid trip sound.
